About Casey

When my daughter was born in 2019, my twelve years of experience in the Alexander Technique inspired me to let her develop at her own pace and to take care not to interfere with her natural coordination. Placing that kind of trust in my baby could feel scary in those early months, but I persevered, not least because I felt like I could learn a lot from her.

As my daughter roamed all over the place, making new discoveries, I studied her movements so that I could use them to improve my own body. I noticed how she used the ground for support, and how she moved her whole torso when she was bending down. Both of these habits were incredibly useful to help me move without pain as I recovered from having a baby.

As my baby gained confidence in her own abilities, my own movement improved as well. I became a certified teacher of the Alexander Technique and developed a program that combines what babies know naturally with what F.M. Alexander discovered about human movement. The most important window for motor development is so very short, and my Alexander Technique background allowed me to extract maximum benefit from that brief period for my baby and myself. I created Move Like Your Baby to help people of all ages achieve the same benefits and regain the freedom and ease of childhood.
